Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Ps 90.14

finley / feet / coffee / early morning freshness

It’s true that I just hate mornings. I hate the kind where you have to wake up, get out of bed and immediately do one or more of the following: think, speak, answer a question or 20, take a shower, start getting ready, work out, go somewhere, or hurry.

But some days, it’s just good to get up before the sun, brew some fresh coffee, and just …be.

Over the past few months, Finley has gotten it in her head that morning time is patio time. She could sit outside for HOURS in the morning. She and Madden used to sit out here together and chase bugs, watch birds and just be cats. I started joining them since Fin was loud enough to get me out of bed in the first place and I have to say, it’s very lovely.

Not the view. The view isn’t lovely, but the fresh, crisp morning air is and the time to just quietly exist and enjoy the morning is nice.

This view (and the low roar of the air conditioner) are momentary infractions on our peaceful mornings that remind us where not actually on vacation and we do have to think and speak and do later.

So enjoy whichever minutes of your morning that you get to just be. The only piece that would make our mornings more complete is if we could share them with Mad.

A full post about Madden is coming soon… his sweet little life is still processing in my head & my heart.

happy friday!
